Charleston Antiques Symposium Mission Statement

The Charleston Antiques Symposium is an annual event dedicated to providing the College of Charleston’s School of the Arts with financial support for its educational and administrative programs while at the same time strengthening the School’s ties with members of the community, the region, and the nation. Of equal importance, and linking the symposium to the College's focus on students, it serves as both a living laboratory for students in the Arts Management Program and one of the educational offerings within the School.

The Charleston Antiques Symposium presents a variety of noted speakers who address topics related to the connoisseurship and interpretation of the decorative arts of the past. The Charleston Antiques Symposium schedule features lecture presentations and small-scale focused-study sessions in and outside the classroom as well as tours of significant collections and structures.
